While in art school studying design, I took an advertising copywriting night class and was hooked. It’s what made me want to go into advertising. Now and then I considered becoming a full time writer, and was once even offered a job as one, but I stuck with art direction and write as needed. These are a few examples of my writing.

Comcast Winter Olympics Sponsorship // Digital/Social/Broadcast

Olympic bobsledder Elana Meyers Taylor’s journey went from from a disappointing softball career to becoming the most decorated black athlete in Winter Olympics history. I wrote this script about the things that inspire her - literally, what she’ slides for’ - including her son, Nico, who was born with Down syndrome. // Role: Creative Director / Writer / Art Director

Marcum // Broadcast

Marcum is an account/advisory company, which isn’t an industry known for comedy. But that’s they wanted so who am I to say no? Their tagline is “Ask marcum”, so I wrote this script about an underling who had all the answer for his boss, because he already had asked Marcum. Thanks to the Radar O’Reilly character from M*A*S*H for inspiration. // Role: Creative Director / Writer / Art Director

The Wall Street Journal // OOH / Print

Year after year, WSJ is named America’s most trusted newspaper. After one such poll, they wanted to get that up on a double-board in midtown Manhattan, and they wanted it up immediately This is what I came up with, followed by a print campaign. The board ran, but the campaign died a slow death, mired in bureaucracy. // Role: Creative Director / Writer / Art Director

The Wall Street Journal // OOH / Print

I wrote the positioning line, “JOURNALism”, and my writer partner contributed the copy. // Role: Creative Director / co-Writer / Art Director

Dell // Print

Dell provides all kinds of systems and solutions for the healthcare industry, which is known for having disjointed networks. These ads were selling the benefit of having a fully connected hospital system. // Role: Creative Director / Writer / Art Director

Canon // Print

Some print ads from when Maria Sharapova was the spokesperson for Canon Powershot. // Role: Creative Director / Writer / Art Director

Money Magazine // Print

A few ads from a huge campaign for Money Magazine. // Role: Art Director / Writer
