Comcast Winter Olympics Sponsorship // Digital/Social/Broadcast

Comcast sponsors many Olympic Athletes. For the 2022 Winter Games, I was tasked with making social films for bobsledder Elana Meyers Taylor and speed skater Erin Jackson. The first film is a scripted piece I wrote for Elana on what drives her - literally, what she “slides for.” The second is a more straightforward doc style film about Erin reinventing herself from an inline skating champion to an Olympic speed skater. Both were incredibly well-received by Comcast’s Chairman - so much so that he shared the Elana film with the entire Comcast organization, and they had us cut a :30 of the Erin film for broadcast. // Role: Creative Director/Writer/Art Director

Elana and Erin weren’t the only athletes we worked with. Fellow Olympians Alex Ferreira (skiing), Brianna Decker (hockey) Nathan Chen (figure skating), Paralympians Rico Roman (sled hockey), Brenna Huckaby (snowboard), and Brody Royal (sled hockey) were featured. Here’s some of the work we made with them.

Comcast Summer Olympics Sponsorship // Social

For the Summer Olympics, I created a TikTok challenge in which users had to try to perform some talent they have in the same time it takes an Olympic track star to run 200 meters (about 20 seconds). The athletes used for the challenge were Noah Lyles, Allyson Felix, and Paralympian David Brown. More than two thousand users participated in the challenge, and the total number of impressions reached 9.6 Billion views by the end of the challenge, about 4x the average for a hashtag challenge. It was named one of TikTok’s ‘Most Innovative Collaborations’ between marketers and creators. // Role: Creative Director/Art Director

Comcast “Internet Essentials” Athlete Sponsorship // Social

Internet Essentials is a Comcast service for people in underserved communities. It may include free or low-cost internet as well as equipment. In this case,
they were giving free laptops to kids at a community center in Minneapolis called JK Movement Youth. We made this film featuring Paralympic wheelchair rugby star Chuck Aoki, and had a viewing for those kids. Afterwards, Chuck surprised them with a live appearance and the giveaway. // Role: Creative Director/co-Writer/Art Director

Comcast “Project UP” // Social/Broadcast

Project UP, Comcast’s biggest CSR program, is an initiative to advance digital equity and build a future of Unlimited Possibilities (UP - get it?).
First is a project informally named “New Kids On The Tok” for which we filmed members of St. Patrick Senior Center as they learned how to master social media, with the help of some ‘experts’ - teens from a nearby community center. The science is overwhelmingly positive on the benefits of social media for seniors to expand their social circles. We made a short film and some social content. The client liked the film enough to have a :30 cutdown made for broadcast. // Role: Creative Director/co-Writer/co-Art Director

Project UP aims to help all people in underserved communities, but it especially benefits kids and families through a $1 billion investment and partnerships with organizations and community centers all across America. Here is a small sampling of some of the work we made to promote it on social media. // Role: Creative Director/co-Writer/co-Art Director

Part of Comcast’s corporate social responsibility is celebrating various cultures by commissioning artist from diverse backgrounds to create original pieces in honor of their heritage during months that celebrate that culture. // Role: Creative Director/co-Writer/co-Art Director

Comcast “Department Of Amazement” // Social/Digital

Comcast is as much a tech company as it is an entertainment group, and they have a very large, very smart group of tech wizzes who would rival any Silicon Valley company. And they do some amazing things, which is why I named the series “The Department Of Amazement.” We created four films, each about a different person. This one features Gilles Biagomba, a professional/ethical hacker. During a break I asked Gilles how long it would take him to hack me and ruin my life, and he said about a day. // Role: Creative Director/Writer/Art Director
